You are a vegetarian living in Kathmandu and always struggle to book the best vegetarian dine place for a date night or maybe just for a snack break? This is a hurdle for most of us. We see a maximum number of people being inclined towards consuming cuisine that has an ample amount of meat products, and this culture is rapidly increasing. Due to which most of the vegetarians are taken aback by the fact that KTM’s restaurants provide so little for them. It is especially fatiguing for those vegetarians who get to eat out most of the time or prefer to eat out. There are very few restaurants, café, dine or eatery that are focusing on plant-based meals. Having said that, you cannot decline a few authentic, prime, and long running venues that have been providing finest vegetarian foods. Today, we will escort you to the top four pure vegetarian food places for those living in the valley. Tiptop It is one of the pioneers for bringing Indian foods, sweets and snacks here in Nepal. I think if you are a vegetarian and haven’t been to this place then you must buckle up to go there for your next snack break. It is worth an experience. Tiptop has a wide range of menu that include sweets and Indian street snacks also few fine food items. It has its outlet all over the valley and some that are beyond the capital. The tiptop’s samosa is the most loved and some even level it as the best one that we can get in our country. It is offered with a spicy red sauce that adds up to its taste. Moreover, sweets, jalebi, pau bhaji, kachauri and along with others that are baked and cooked in the restaurant that are purely for the vegetarians are mouthwatering and luscious. Darjeeling Momo When we talk about Momo, we often do not prefer vegetable Momo on our list for conversation. That is because we have the preconceived notion of the veg Momo to be not so tasty compared to other fillings. But Darjeeling Momo will change your views on them right after you are there. It is the place you would want to go if you are in search of a place that only dishes up vegetarian Momo. Its Momo tastes like heaven. They are very soft with healthy fillings. It has become a favorite place for not only vegetarians but for no vegetarians as well. The major reason behind it is that it is served with thin skin, crispy veggies and perfect spicy achaar (tomato pickle). It is also not new in the valley, it was established around the corner of Sukedhara way back with the objective to serve healthy, clean, and only vegetable-based Momo. If you haven’t been their guest yet then you must soon !! Utpala Café Next on our list of top four is the Utpala café. Utpala café is in bouddha and is run by a Buddhist monastery. Its food menu is entirely vegetarian. The ambience of the café is a decent one as well. At a decent price, you can get a complete veg buffet set, so the next time you plan to eat out for lunch you can just hop in there. The breakfast that they have been providing is also convincing. In the nutshell, it’s just that, you must try it for yourself and verify it. Because experimenting is what vegetarians have been doing for so long. Last but not the least, we have an OR2K complete dine restaurant located near Mandela street on our list. It has been in the valley for more than two decades now. Old can never go wrong. It stands out as a venue for a dinner date. Wide range of cuisines ( all vegetarian) are offered here. Dunking falafels, naan bread and focaccia into their hummus and its pasta or crepes are their bestselling. Basically, everything that they serve is finger licking good.
